Christmas ornaments and gifts are fascinating and truly remarkable elements that bring joy and pleasure to our lives every winter. Finding the perfect present for a dear friend or family member is both a challenge and a great happiness too; it's enough to think of the gratitude and satisfaction on one's face when opening the present. There are some standard scenes recreated in almost all households on Christmas: they include the tree, the lights and the personalized stockings. There is even a legend related to the appearance of the personalized stockings we now use for Christmas. Saint Nick is said to have thrown some gold coins down the chimney in order to help a poor family.
The coins fell into a stocking hanging there to dry. Thus, every Christmas we recreate this joy of sharing gifts and love with family and friends. All personalized stockings in the house should look the same: the only difference is that of the name inscribed on it; the number of stockings matches the number of family members, and pets are often included in the count. Usually, children hang their personalized stockings on Christmas Eve, so that Santa can fill them with toys and sweets. The items used to fill the stockings are usually small-sized and generally referred to as stuffers.
Tradition says that those children who misbehave throughout the year will not receive anything in the personalized stockings, or in the worst of cases, they'll get a lump of coal. Though there are small variations concerning the tradition of personalized stockings, it is still found in many parts of the world. Of course that in the beginning, regular old socks hung by the fireplace were used, but in time, the now well-developed decoration industry came up with unique models in traditional colors of white, red, yellow and silver.
Personalized stockings can be bought from regular shops or ordered directly on the Internet. Prices are likely to rise as the holidays draw nearer, but they will soon know a major drop soon afterwards. Therefore, if you are interested in making a bargain after the holidays, now is the time to buy tree and house decorations for half their initial prices. It is however sad that you'll only get to use these new personalized stockings on next Christmas only. They are usually available in larger sets, depending on the number of family members; you can also choose some items according to size: smaller ones for children and larger for adults.
